AFEA Congress team had the honor and privilege to undertake the full support and organization of the 33rd Panhellenic Pulmonology Conference on behalf of the Hellenic Pulmonology Society, serving as the official PCO of the event.
As every year, the conference was the most significant scientific gathering in the field of pulmonology, setting a high standard for progress and innovation in the medical community.
The 33rd Panhellenic Pulmonology Conference focused on the future while actively supporting young physicians through the awarding of significant scholarships. At the same time, it honored its past by paying tribute to the scientists who laid the foundation for modern pulmonology.
The Hellenic Pulmonology Society significantly expanded its outreach by inviting and awarding honorary distinctions to Kostas Madouros, Thanasis Vasilopoulos, Thodoris Iakovidis, and Maria Bekatorou, ambassadors of the Scientific Society. The conference was further enriched by the presence and active participation of distinguished guests from Greece and abroad.
Notable attendees included the President of the European Respiratory Society, Prof. Silke Ryan, and the Minister of Social Cohesion and Family, Ms. Sofia Zacharaki. Greetings were delivered remotely by the Minister of Health, Mr. Adonis Georgiadis, and the Rector of the University of Athens, Prof. Gerasimos Siasos. An in-person address was given by the Dean of the Medical School of Athens, Mr. Nikolaos Arkadopoulos.
Additionally, the conference strengthened the collaboration between the Hellenic Pulmonology Society and corresponding international organizations, such as the Cyprus Pulmonology Society.
With remarkable participation and hosted in the exceptional conference facilities of the Grand Hyatt Athens, the 33rd Panhellenic Pulmonology Conference was a premier event that AFEA Congress is proud to have supported and continues to support.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Hellenic Pulmonology Society and its President, Prof. Stylianos Loukidis, for his vision and trust in us. Furthermore, we sincerely thank all the members of the Society’s Board of Directors for their excellent collaboration in executing such a large-scale conference, as well as all collaborators, participants, speakers, invited guests, and sponsors who contributed in the best possible way to the success of this event.
